Gardens on Green

The idea for this hands-on educational garden was planted in 2007, and gardens began to grow in 2008 with the planting of a Garden of Winners. This garden showcases Georgia Gold Medal plants and other award winners. Carrying out the primary goal of education, Hall County Master Gardener volunteers planted it side by side with East Hall High horticulture students and Junior Master Gardeners from our elementary schools.

Gardens on Green now includes a Children's Vegetable Garden, a Butterfly Garden, Native Gardens, a Conifer Garden, and a Deer Resistant Garden. Plants in each are labeled with common and botanical names, making self-guided tours educational as well as enjoyable. Notebooks with comprehensive listings of plants are available upon request in the Board of Education Building.
