Partnership Garden

Wilshire Trails Gardens, near the Wilshire Road pavilion and Pearl Nix Parkway parking lot, are managed by Gainesville Parks and Recreation, with Hall County Master Gardeners (HCMG) overseeing the gardens since 2002. This partnership has yielded beautiful results. Established in 1983 after the Trail's 1982 completion, the gardens feature native and ornamental plants that attract pollinators. A dedicated pollinator garden was added in 2009, to support annual butterfly releases, later moved to another location due to popularity. Since 2024, the gardens include educational signage and public training events such as the 'Southeast Bumble Bee Atlas' workshop planned for 2026. The four-section garden offers photo opportunities and year-round color. Work continues to remove invasive species and expand native plantings. HCMG has contributed over 2,110 hours to the gardens since 2014.
