The Hall County Master Gardeners are working with the Xerces Society https://www.xerces.org/community-science to promote free training of citizen scientists to collect data and documentation about bumble bees.

Bumble bees are keystone pollinators (powerhouse pollinators doing jobs only they can do and/or for the most plants) and research info is not plentiful.
You can be a part of this interesting and significant effort. Join us for a virtual presentation on the Southeast Bumble Bee Atlas! You will learn about bumble bee conservation and ecology and how to participate in the project as a community scientist. The Bumble Bee Atlas is a project aimed at tracking and conserving bumble bees and their habitats. We need help gathering data in Northern Georgia!
The Xerces Society's local effort, Southeast Bumble Bee Atlas, is hosting a live virtual training for those willing to participate in this important data collecting and documenting of local bumble bees.
The free one-hour training will be on Zoom, Monday, March 23, 2026 from 5:30 TO 6:30 PM EDT.

The March 23 live virtual training will be followed by a live field training in late spring in Gainesville.
Participants do not need to be Master Gardeners, so encourage friends and family to Zoom in on the training also!
